What Ferblanc supported in 2022
Dr Severine Boillee, Institut du Cerveau, Paris
The Ferblanc Trustees are delighted to fully support Dr Boillee’s project entitled: “Slowing the progression of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) from the periphery; ALS macrophage instrinsic and extrinsic reactivities for biomarkers and new therapeutic targets”. Funds provided are £52,500, and the project commenced in Q4 for a period of 24 months.

Dr Tarunya Arun, University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust
Ferblanc are pleased to be providing partial funding in the sum of £27,741 for Dr Arun’s project relating to “Diagnostic and predictive biomarkers in Neurosarcoidosis and Multiple Sclerosis”.
The project commenced in Q1 2023 and is due to continue for a period of 24 months.
In June 2024, Dr Arun updated us as follows:
“The CSF and serum have now been analysed and we have the initial biomarker results ready.
We will now collate this with the clinical data and also continue to move to statistical analysis
We aim to complete analysis by the end of Autumn 2024 and then move to a further grant application for a larger multicentre project using this pilot data”.
